16 Aug “Why Are My Competitors Moving… Should I Move Too?”
Should you also be changing your commercial accommodation?
Okay, so you’ve been seeing your competitors move offices and change things up a bit?
Is there something you’ve missed?
Well, if you’re unsure about whether you should make the change and aren’t sure if it is the right strategic business decision, then take a seat because I’m about to give you the five ways you can figure it out.
Staff Expansion
This most likely and most common reason your competitors are moving, but it isn’t always the same for every business and perhaps it will come at a different time for you. If you’re struggling to find appropriate desk space for your staff members and the working conditions are beginning to feel cramped and congested, then it just may be a time for a fresh office. This could involve leasing or be buying an additional space, expanding your current space, or simply moving to a larger area.
Downsizing from unused space
Essentially, this is the opposite of above. If you’re finding an empty office with wasted space and hearing your voice echo off the walls, it’s time to think about downsizing. You are paying for every square meter of the space, so why pay for it if it’s not needed. Subleasing, refits, and simply moving to another space are some options to consider if it’s time to make the decision.
Giving the right impression
I’m sure you know that in the corporate world, making the right impression is key. Having the correct address on your business cards, having a sleek modern office and being located in the right area are a few aspects that make that impression. If your current space is seriously lacking the “wow” factor from your clients, then perhaps it is time to strategically think about making a change.
The facility can no longer cater for you
The nature of your office may be changing. With the development of workplace strategy, workspaces and offices are becoming dynamic and have different spaces for different functions. Break-out areas, recreational areas, and quiet areas are becoming more common within the modern workplace and not all older facilities can cater to the needs.
Lease expiration
We all know commercial leases will expire one day, and when they do, there may not be a guarantee for a lease extension. This could signal to you that it’s now the right time to move on and to the next space. For a favourable lease and location, it is always best to talk to strategic planners and experts, such as Hubb Consultants.
Hopefully, you can relate to those five points, to determine the need for your corporate accommodation change. If you don’t, then don’t worry! It’s not your time to move, but it is always the right time to refresh. Revive your workspace to the modern corporate world through strategic workplace planning and agile working.
